About a month since my last full event: had not been too satisfied with the evo’s braking performance, and theorized part of this could be due to rev hang. If the car’s revs are hanging instead of dropping, at the very least I lose the assistance of engine braking and at worst the car’s rev floating fights against my braking. Came to this realization after driving a friend’s car, and when one axle broke (thereby losing all engine braking in that axle, leaving only the brakes), I lost what felt like nearly all braking on that side. This told me engine braking can play a significant role in braking the car.

Had the tuner change that in the map and it seemed to have slightly improved braking. There were a few spots I came in way too hot but the car stopped anyway, including being able to engage ABS. Car felt very good overall, no push, very well balanced. Decided to try 6 clicks from stiff instead of 5 (1 click softer), and after I got the tires a little hot in the front, switched ACD to Gravel mode. Car is running great, but still need to work on distance from cones and placement in general.
