Needed two just beat two guys today to lock in 20th, managed to do so by the skin of my teeth. Instead of drastically improving, I’ve stepped down in ranking every year so far. However, the region spiked in competition this year, with many newcomers and fast drivers. Looking at the relative scores (top 6 pax performances each year):
2013: 54,959 (38th)
2014: 57,647 (17th, car change to new Mini)
2015: 57,446 (18th, uncompetitive tires year-round)
2016: 57,901 (20th)
So 2016 was actually by best performance on a relative basis, but the competition had really steepened this year. For comparison, my performance this year would have put me 14th in 2015, 2014, and 2013, but 20th this year. We’ll see how things pan out for next year, as things wind down this year and 2017 schedule slowly form. 2 more events left to go, both in the Evo now!

Some changes for next year, which may be the Mini’s swan song (but probably not):
Things to work on for 2017 (Mini):
- Focus on driving the car on the best line possible – hit cones more
- Push harder, while maintaining line
- Brake harder (May upgrade brakes)
- Run shorter tire (205/50-16 this year, run 205/45-16 next year)
- Work on being smooth
- 1/9ths tank
- Ran 40/46
- 2016 Runs: 114 (+7 me, regular + 1 rerun) on the Mini tires
2016 Run Count: 156 (+7 Mini)
