Batteries… Again (Evo)

I’ve gone back-and-forth on batteries so, so many times on the Evo. I really hope this is the last. The AGM battery was a dud, eventually losing so much power that it couldn’t be recharged, even with the gimmicky power button for restart. To be fair, it did sit for months and months without a charge and that’s probably what killed it, but given the relocation, I don’t mind sticking more weight in the rear. I went back to the Optima YellowTop D35 battery, which features 620CCA and again, the ability to be deeply drained. It weighs 36.4 vs the 11.7 of the AGM, so this is a gain of 24.7lbs. Kind of a bummer, but again, not horrible considering the location. I think this is worth the peace of mind of not having to care about a charge anymore – this a full-fledged D35, no more worrying or caring about a few weeks without keeping it on the trickle or even a weekend trip without a charger. Again though, I hope this is the last time I have to think about batteries.
