Tires – Evo

Falken Azenis RT615k+ – 265/35-18

I ran these in the 2018 season, for autox on my 18×9.5 CE28Ns.

Bridgestone RE71Rs – 255/40-17

I ran these in the 2017 season, on brand new 17×9.5 Wedsport TC105ns – for the first time ever, moving away from my OEM wheels & tires. This made a huge difference in grip, handling, and rocketed me up in index. The tires did still tend to overheat in the fronts, and likely the Rival S 1.5’s would perform better, but keeping with the RE71Rs for overall performance.

Bridgestone RE71Rs – 245/45-17

I ran these in the 2016 season, on my stock wheels, before ultimately realizing that I just did not have the width to put down good times in the Evo. At the end of the 2016 season I decided to go big

Dunlop Z1SS & Hankook RS3 – 245/40-17 & 235/45-17

I’m combining these as the last hold-outs on my tires before moving to a decent setup. These were on my OEM tires

Hankook Ventus S1 Noble2 225/50-17 (Evo, 11/2014-2017)

Bought these as my commuters for my Evo. Nice, comfortable, and quiet tires compared to the summer tires that I’m normally on – though that’s not necessarily saying much. Size is about an inch taller than standard, which adds a little gearing for the highway. They’ve got a ton of tread and have gotten really great reviews on Tire Rack. After 1 year I’ve only put about 1,500 mi on them – I’ve been a little lazier with changing the Evo’s tires compared to the Mini, but I’m sure that will change in 2016
